UPDATE:
IDAHO FALLS — Diesel fuel on Interstate 15 was cleared without incident Sunday afternoon, according to the Idaho Falls Fire Department.
The truck was hauling produce when the driver struck something in the road, department officials stated in a Facebook post. The object then “punctured one of the saddle tanks on the truck” and the fuel supply began to leak.
“Approximately 12 to 15 gallons of fuel were spilled, which was mitigated by the IFFD using special absorbent materials,” officials said.
Lindsey towing and hazmat response was called to perform the remaining clean up and tow the tractor/trailer away. The scene was cleared at about 2:30 p.m.
