Underrated Liam Neeson Christmas thriller just hit Netflix and reminds viewers of another classic

An action packed movie starring Liam Neeson was just added to Netflix and fans are saying it reminds them of another film of his.

The Irish actor is one of the most successful action-movie stars with an endless list of movies where he stars as former CIA agent, retired mobster, or a US air marshal. In almost every movie, Neeson employs his acting skills to make each other exciting and unique, but one movie that just appeared on Netflix, is reminding fans of another.

Run All Night is a thriller released in 2015, starring Ballymena man Neeson as an ex-Irish Mob hitman who goes on the run with his estranged adult son after he is forced to kill the son of a mobster boss.

It is unsurprising that the movie had some of the same ingredients as Neeson's other movies - Run All Night is the third collaboration between Liam Neeson and director Jaume Collet-Serra, after Unknown and Non-Stop. However, upon its release the movie received significantly worse reviews than his prior two projects with the filmmaker.

Now, after being added to the world's largest streaming platform, it is enjoying a revival of popularity. It is particularly popular right now because despite its heavy subject matter and lack of carols in the soundtrack, Run All Night is technically a Christmas movie. Neeson's character, Jimmy "The Gravedigger" Conlon, finds himself suffering the consequences of a life of bad behavior when he is alone at Christmas.

Some viewers compared it to other action films with a Christmas setting, like Die Hard and Lethal Weapon. If you are looking for a new movie to add to your Christmas marathon rotation, Run All Night is a good option.
