Tributes have been paid after the sudden death of a Co Down businessman after an accident at his home.
It's reported Paul Ward, 57, was found dead early on Sunday morning, March 9. It's understood his body was found close to automated gates at his house in Killough.
Tributes have been paid to the father-of-five, described as an "absolute gentleman".
A PSNI statement said: "Police attended a report of the sudden death of a man in the Station Road area of Killough on Sunday 9th March.
"A post-mortem will take place to establish the cause of death. However, it is not being treated as suspicious at this time."
Killough Community Association said: "We are absolutely shocked and devastated by the news of the passing of Paul Ward Snr and send are heartfelt condolences to Una and the entire family circle.
"The family have asked that the house remains completely private at this time."
SDLP Councillor Gareth Sharvin said: "What a gentleman Paul Ward Snr - in shock at the news of his passing. I wish to express my deepest condolences and prayers to Una, all the children and the wider Ward family circle at this difficult time."
In statement on Facebook, Killough Football Club said: "It is with deep sadness that we share the heartbreaking news of the sudden passing of Paul Ward Snr. His passing has come as a great shock to our village and has brought an overwhelming sense of loss to all who knew him.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Una, his children, grandchildren, and the entire Ward family at this incredibly difficult time. Paul was a well known and much respected figure in our community, and his presence will be sorely missed.
"On behalf of everyone at Killough FC, we offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace."
The Anchor Bar paid tribute hailing the work Mr Ward did for the area. A spokesperson said: " The Anchor Bar wish to express our sincere and heartfelt condolences following the untimely passing of Paul Ward Sr.
"Our thoughts and prayers are offered to his wife, Una, children, grandchildren, extended family and friends during this extremely difficult period.
"Paul was a significant figure within the village, who did much to show his support to those in it.
"He was an absolute gentleman and will be remembered for his caring nature and kindness.
"He will be sorely missed throughout the village and beyond. May he rest in peace."
