Dancing with the Stars presetner Doireann Garrihy has once again apologised for her involvement in the controversy over brand partnerships among RTÉ staff, describing it as "not a pleasant time".

Speaking to Patrick Kielty on The Late Late Showm the 32 year old found herself in a difficult situation in 2023 when it was revealed that she had used RTÉ facilities to record a video for a paid partnership with Flahavan's Porridge.

Doireann expressed regret over the incident and took the opportunity to apologise once more.

"That wasn't a pleasant time," she told the Co Down host.

"I made a mistake at the time and, obviously, I have a responsibility working for the national broadcaster.

"I shouldn't have done it, I was reprimanded at the time.

"I apologised – I apologise. And we live and learn."

When asked about the "trolls" she encounters online, the presenter and podcaster said she generally has a very positive view of social media.

"They're actually few and far between. For the most part, social media is a really positive place for me, and it's something I've built up for the guts of 10 years now," reports the Irish Mirror.

"Before I ever started with 2FM, I built this community and they've been amazing. Of course, you're always going to get the one percent, no more than the Late Late Show gets the one percent.

"You get a thick skin and not everyone is going to like you no matter what walk of life you're in, you can't please everyone. It's part of the game really, no matter what you do."

Patrick was also joined by actress Fiona Shaw, Operation Transportation host Kathryn Thomas, impressionist Mario Mario Rosenstock and music from trad group BIIRD.
