Police search for 'two young people' after brick thrown through window of moving vehicle in Co Antrim

Police are looking for "two young people" after a brick was thrown through the rear passenger window of a moving car in Co Antrim.

Police are appealing for information following the incident which took place at around 4.45pm in the Main Street area of Cullybackey on Sunday, January 5.

It was reported that a brick was thrown through the rear passenger window of a vehicle that was being driven at the time, near a building site in the area, causing extensive damage to it.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

Police say two young people were seen running from the site in the direction of Main Street towards Tobar Park after the brick was thrown through the vehicle's window.

Officers in the area carried out patrols following the incident, however they did not manage to locate the suspects.

Neighbourhood Inspector Parkes said: “The brick was thrown through the rear passenger window of the vehicle near a building site at approximately 4.45pm – causing extensive damage. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

“Two young people were observed running from the site in the direction of Main Street towards Tobar Park.

“Patrols of the immediate area were conducted by police – however the suspects were not located. We are following lines of enquiry, and will be continuing with routine patrols of the area.

“We would appeal to anyone who witnessed what happened or who has dash-cam or other video footage of the area to contact us on the non-emergency number 101 and quote reference number 870 05/01/25.
