The headquarters of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet in annexed Crimea was targeted by a missile strike, Russian-backed officials said Friday.
Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Kremlin-backed governor of Sevastopol, said emergency crews were looking into whether there were any casualties as a result of the attack.
Missile debris fell near a theater 200 meters from the Russian Navy’s Black Sea Fleet in central Sevastopol, he added.
The state-run TASS news agency said one of its correspondents witnessed debris strewn “hundreds of meters” from the Russian Navy's headquarters.
Razvozhayev warned that a second strike may be imminent and urged residents to avoid central Sevastopol.
