Man taken to hospital with head and body injuries following serious assault in South Belfast

A man was taken to hospital with injuries to his head and body following a serious assault in Belfast.

The incident took place shortly after 10pm in the Dublin Road area on Friday, February 28, with a man suffering serious injuries as a result of the assault.

The emergency services were called to the scene with paramedics carrying out treatment to the victim before taking him to hospital.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the assault to contact them.

Detective Sergeant Kitchen said: “Shortly after 10pm we received a report that a man had been assaulted in the Dublin Road area.

“Officers along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended and a man was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries to his head and body.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the assault or to anyone who may have CCTV, dash-cam or other footage that could assist with enquiries to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference 1785 28/02/25.
