POCATELLO — A woman who pleaded guilty to one felony count of burglary has been ordered to serve probation.

Mia Giselle Charley, 22, entered the guilty plea after reaching a plea deal with the Bannock County Prosecutor’s Office. In exchange for the plea, two additional counts of burglary, one count of grand theft and one count of possessing a stolen financial transaction card were dismissed.

Charley was sentenced to five years of felony probation, with a discretionary jail sentence of 120 days, by District Judge Javier Gabiola who suspended a prison sentence of two to five years, court records show.

Charley was arrested in June after she was tied to a string of vehicle burglaries last November.

Among the items taken from cars parked at a local truck stop was a wallet. Cards inside the wallet were then used to make purchases at the truck stop.

Officers obtained surveillance footage of the transaction made with the stolen cars and used it to identify Charley, who admitted to being the person in the footage during a police interview.

In addition to probation, Charley has been ordered to pay $1,555.50 in fees and fines.
