Gardai investigations have revealed Kyran Durnin was living apart from his family when he was a young child.
The boy was in the care of another relative who did not have children at that time.
This individual had reportedly stepped in to help Kyran's mother, Dayla, whilst she dealt with the birth of another child. Officers conducting interviews believe Kyran received ample love and care during this particular stage of his brief life.

For the past weeks, Gardai have been piecing together a comprehensive background of Kyran’s life from his birth leading up to his sudden disappearance in June 2022. A host of family members who found themselves estranged from the boy in the years prior to his vanishing have had conversations with Gardai.
It seems some relatives haven’t seen Kyran for two or three years, despite being reassured by an elder family figure that he was well or out on play dates.
Yet details around his death or where it occurred remain unknown to Gardai. Comments from a source hint at a guarded secret: "There is still a conspiracy of silence going on and a certain number of people are busy covering up for each other. They have their story and they are sticking to it.", reports the Irish Mirror.
The source said, "They think they can get away with it because we haven't found Kyran's body yet but they won't."
According to the source, the inflow of information from the public is unabated and those involved remain under watchful eyes: "There is far too much information coming in from the public and every move they make is being watched."
"There is a lot of anger in the Drogheda area over this case and how anyone can ignore the death of a six year old boy for over two years."
Kyran would be eight years old if he were alive today. One of the suspects informed detectives that he was with Anthony Maguire when he vanished.
Mr Maguire refuted any involvement when questioned by police and later took his own life. Unfortunately, he didn't leave any information about what happened to Kyran.
Gardai are planning to make more arrests in the case in the upcoming weeks and also to resume searching for Kyran's body at other locations.
