The following is a news release from the Idaho Falls Symphony:

IDAHO FALLS — With the lights turned low and an air of mystery, Symphony Masquerade debuts on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m at the newly-minted Frontier Center for the Performing Arts. This event is the annual Pink Ribbon concert, sponsored by Mountain View Hospital.

“This will be an evening to remember,” says Music Director Thomas Heuser. “The mood is fun and the music will have our hearts racing. The magic of a Sorcerer’s charm and the vivid Enigma Variations showcase our special musical powers! Don’t miss your chance to be mesmerized by the Symphony!”

Living-composer Anna Clyne crafted her overture Masquerade as a delirious party scene; noisy and crowded with song and conversation. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice brings tantalizing magic to the stage, and the mysteries continue with Elgar’s stunning Enigma Variations, where imagined characters come to life. Of his Enigma Variations, Edward Elgar said that these are enigmas not in the sense of a riddle to be solved, but a “dark saying [that] must be left unguessed.”

“Mountain View Hospital is thrilled to be Presenting the Symphony Masquerade,” says Brian Ziel, Marketing Director with Mountain View Hospital. “This year’s fun and fancy Pink Ribbon Concert is a party atmosphere with a celebratory flair. So add pink accents to your favorite Symphony outfits and help us honor the courage of our breast cancer survivors!”
