Eamonn Holmes and Ellie Costello made a comeback with their hit breakfast programme on Wednesday morning.
But GB News viewers' focus swiftly shifted from news to concern when Eamonn vanished in the middle of the broadcast. After a sports chat with Paul Coyte, GB News cut to an advert break and upon returning Eamonn, was noticeably absent.
Not addressing his disappearance, Ellie had to navigate the newspaper review on her own while speaking to ex-Liberal Democrat Norman Baker and political analyst Clare Muldoon for the segment, the Mirror reports.
Anxious viewers immediately turned to the comments to question the host's location, including one fan who asked: "Where is Eamon this morning?" One blunt user asked: "Wheres wally? Sorry Eammon!". While another inferred: "Eamon was sounding croaky just now - AandE perhaps."
Compliments flew in for Ellie as one spectator noted: "Ellie did well there without Eamon dominating," while another expressed frustration asking: "Why do they never say why someone suddenly goes missing?". Viewers breathed a sigh of relief as Eamonn resurfaced following the segment about newspapers but received no explanation for his temporary absence.
He promptly resumed news duties, jumping into a conversation about Jess Phillips' reply to Elon Musk's blast at the government over the controversy surrounding Oldham. However, this isn't Eamonn's first disappearing act from the show.
Just last month, he was swapped out for Ben Leo during a presenting reshuffle, which saw his former co-star abruptly replaced. This year, GB News has had a change up as Eamonn now presents his show with Ellie Costello, following the abrupt axe of his former co-star Isabel Webster.
The reason behind her unexpected exit is yet to be confirmed, although an insider told MailOnline that "Isabel was too woke and not on message" for the channel's brand. Isabel isn't the only face to leave the news channel as Mark Dolan was axed from his Saturday evening show after four years.
