While much of Australia's south-east will tuck into prawns and pudding under clear, sunny skies on Christmas Day, those living in the north of the country may need to take the festivities indoors in the latest weather forecast.
After a patchy start to summer, warmer temperatures will allow most Christmas revellers across the country to be stress=free about taking their celebrations outdoors.
In Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth, hot and sunny conditions will prevail as the kids tear open Santa's packages, while Sydney, Canberra and Hobart can expect cloudy but clearing conditions.
Those in Brisbane and Darwin can expect some showers with high humidity, as expected at this time of the year.
The Victorian capital is expected to reach a sunny 28C on Christmas Day but other parts of the state will swelter, with 37C forecast for Mildura and 35C in Albury-Wodonga.

Sydney will notch a maximum of 28C on Christmas Day with mostly cloudy conditions and the chance of a storm in the west of the city. Elsewhere in NSW it will be high 20s with mostly clear skies on the north coast, temps around 30C on the south coast, and maximums of the mid-30s out west at Dubbo and Broken Hill.

Cloud will begin to clear in Canberra with a maximum of 31C.
Adelaide will be a hot, clear 31C on Christmas Day but rising to 37C and 41C the following two days as a mini-heatwave sets in. A cool change is expected to arrive in the state before New Year's.
Queensland's populous south-east will see a 'mixed bag' of festive season weather, with possible showers on Christmas Day. Brisbane will be humid and 29C on both Christmas and Boxing days, while the Gold Coast will reach 29C and far north Queensland, the low 30s.

Perth, which sweltered through Christmas last year, can expect another warm day of 31C - though significantly cooler than the 41C it copped in 2021.
Cooler temps in the mid-20s will prevail at popular south coast holiday spots on Christmas Day and the days immediately after, while the northern region up to Broome can expect temps in the mid-30s.
The Northern Territory will be the wettest part of Australia over Christmas, with showers and storms most days as the after-effects of Tropical Cyclone Ellie continue to be felt.
Darwin will be 32C on Christmas Day with up to 20mm of rain expected.
Tasmania, unsurprisingly, will be about the coolest part of Australia on Christmas Day with a mild 25C forecast for Hobart and similar temps throughout the rest of the apple isle.
