IDAHO FALLS — Burly Burger has only been open three months, but it’s already making a mark on eastern Idaho with juicy burgers, mouthwatering sides and huge, creamy milkshakes.
The restaurant opened in November at 3484 South 25th East in Idaho Falls and customers have fallen in love with the food.
“We felt it would be a really good market for a burger place. There’s not really anything like this here and we felt it would be a really good opportunity to bring the food to Idaho Falls,” says Hayley Smith. She and her parents, Dennis and Cristen Hurst, are the franchise owners.
One of the most popular items at Burly Burger is the Paul Bunyan. It’s stacked with a beef patty, hot dog, cheddar cheese, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms and burly sauce.

There’s also “The Farley,” like actor Chris Farley, topped with buffalo chicken strips, lettuce, tomato, and blue cheese dressing.
Then there’s the incredibly well-liked “The Duke,” inspired the John Wayne. In includes cheddar cheese, bacon, fry sauce, BBQ sauce and onion rings.
Burly Burger offers chicken sandwiches, salads and serves up battered fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings and garlic cheese curds, melt-in-your-mouth squares that are pretty addictive.

If you’re extremely hungry or want a challenge, “The Brigham,” named after Brigham Young, is the burger for you.
“We challenge somebody to eat ten patties in a big, tall tower with a serving of fries and a Burly shake,” Smith said. “The myth in Utah is that Brigham Young had ten wives, all named Patty.”
There’s no time limit to finish The Brigham but if you can complete the enter burger, fries and shake, your name goes on a chalkboard in the restaurant, you get a free t-shirt and your meal is refunded.

Once you’ve had your burger and fries, top of your meal with a huge milkshake. Carmel, Oreo, cookie dough, brownie and a variety of fruit flavors are offered in regular or burly sizes (that could easily be shared with one or more people).
