Barefoot Bay Woman Accused of Stabbing Mother to Death (Brevard County Jail)

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A Brevard County woman is accused of stabbing her mother to death, according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigators were called to a home early Tuesday morning on Seagull Drive in Barefoot Bay, where deputies found the victim who was stabbed multiple times, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

The victim was identified as 69-year-old Cheryl Meurer – the mother of the accused suspect, 49-year-old Kelly Tinsley.

Based on the evidence collected and statements gathered, investigators believe Tinsley got into a fight with her mother Monday night that ended with Meurer being stabbed to death, deputies said.

Tinsley was arrested and she faces a charge of manslaughter reclassified with the use of a weapon.
