EastIdahoNews.com is partnering with Ashley and Ashley Outlet of Idaho Falls to honor people in our community for Feel Good Friday. Every week, we surprise someone deserving of special recognition.
We recently received an email from a man who says a lady at the Bingham County Courthouse likely saved his life. It said:
I am nominating Kecia for quite possibly saving my life. Two weeks ago, my wife and I went to the County Assessor’s office to address our homeowner’s property tax exemption. Once at the counter and we were talking to the clerk (Kecia), I complained to my wife about the pain in my calf and I sat down at the bench.
Kecia heard me talk about the pain and asked a couple of questions. She then suggested that I go see my doctor and get checked out for deep vein thrombosis. She said it a couple of times during our short conversation. And she said it enough that I followed her advice.
After our appointment, my wife and I drove straight to the doctor. Bloodwork was drawn and the results were given to me that evening – it was likely I had a blood clot in my leg. The next morning, I ended up at the ER and it was determined that not only did I have the clot in my leg, but two in my lung!
I am so grateful for Kecia and her concern about the pain in my leg. Without her I would not have gone to the doctor. The outcome could have been completely different for me and my family.
We decided to surprise Kecia for Feel Good Friday. Check out the video in the player above!
