Tiernan Lynch is a leading contender for the vacant Derry City job with decision expected within the next 48 hours.
Lynch is reportedly the frontrunner to replace Ruaidhri Higgins but it is understood any potential deal to take the 44-year-old to the Brandywell is still to be agreed with Larne.
Lynch has been in charge at Inver Park since 2017 leading the club out of the Championship before going on to win back-to-back Irish Premiership titles. He helped create history in the summer as Larne qualified for the group stages of the UEFA Conference League.

In September Lynch rejected the chance to take over at Scottish Premiership outfit St Johnstone but it seems he could be on his way out of the east Antrim club this time.
Lynch is currently preparing for Larne's BetMcLean Cup tie against Institute on Tuesday, which is ironically being played at the Brandywell, and in an interview with the Derry Journal on Monday Lynch said the Candystripes have the potential to become the 'biggest club in the island of Ireland'.
"Right now I'm the manager of Larne Football Club and I have a game to prepare for tomorrow night," said Lynch. "That's pretty much where I'm at. At this stage I've nothing to tell anybody."
"(Derry City) has the potential to be the biggest club in the island of Ireland," he added. "So I think any manager who has ambition, if they told you that wasn't something of interest they'd be telling you lies."
Former Northern Ireland boss Ian Baraclough is reportedly another contender for the post with Derry City Chief Executive Sean Barrett expecting a breakthrough in negotiations within the next 24 or 48 hours.
"I'm talking to people and expect answers within the next 24 hours," he said. "I'm in negotiations at the moment. We have two candidates in the running. We weren't expecting this to happen as we were expecting Ruaidhri to stay on and so things have really unravelled in the last couple of days.”
