The greater Phoenix area is expecting a $600 million windfall from the upcoming Super Bowl LVII at State Farm Stadium on February 12 in Glendale, Arizona.

Visit Phoenix, a non-profit marketing group, is estimating the $600 million economic impact generated from the Philadelphia Eagles-Kansas City Chiefs matchup.

That would actually be a slight decrease from 2015, when Super Bowl XLIX brought in an estimated 121,000 visitors to the Phoenix area, along with a $720 million economic impact.

The research does not account for what locals will spend during that time, but the area population will be roughly 80 or 90 percent out-of-towners, according to Arizona State senior researcher Anthony Evans.

Evans explained his process to Phoenix's News 12.

'We'll look at their accommodations, we'll look at the bars, restaurants, whether they spend the money on groceries, what other forms of entertainment they engage in, do they hire a car?' Evans asked. 'Do they spend gas money and things of that nature?'

While Evans did not offer an estimate for 2023, he did say a closer comparison for the upcoming Super Bowl's economic impact would be the 2020 game in Miami, which brought around $500 million to $600 million into Florida's economy.

Ticket prices for this year's Super Bowl are already soaring.

As of Sunday night the cheapest ticket available through TickPick was for an $5,710. Of the 2,550 tickets the resale site had on sale, the average price was $9,825, while the most expensively-priced ticket was listed at $37,408.

Tickets offered by the NFL through its official hospitality partner 'On Location' were listed at the starting price of $5,867 dollars after taxes and fees are factored in.

Packages offered from On Location include access to pregame parties, experiences and events with appearances by NFL legends, the site explains. Some options can reach as high as $30,000 in price.
