The Department of Examinations Sri Lanka has issued an official announcement calling for applications for the 2026 Grade 5 Scholarship Examination, scheduled to be held on August 9, 2026.
Accordingly, applications will be accepted from March 30 until midnight on April 30. Authorities have emphasized that the deadline will not be extended under any circumstances.
Eligibility for the examination is limited to students currently studying in Grade 5 at government schools or government-approved private schools.
The department further stated that scholarships will only be awarded to students from low-income families who are under 11 years of age as of January 31, 2027.
