Paddy McLaughlin believes the 'sky's the limit' for in-form Glenavon star

Paddy McLaughlin says the "sky's the limit" for Peter Campbell if the Glenavon star continues to produce his recent high level performances.

Campbell has been one of the Lurgan Blues standout performers since McLaughlin took over the reins at Mourneview Park with three goals in his last four games.

His latest goal came in Monday night's 2-0 win over Ballymena United with McLaughlin singing the praises of Campbell and fellow goal scorer Davy McDaid after the game.

"Peter is a top player, he got off to a slow enough start this season but you see now what he is all about, he is committed to the cause and if he keeps playing the way he is playing the sky is the limit," McLaughlin told BBC Sport.

"Davy has been incredible for us in the last few weeks, so it is good to see him get his goal, he never stops working."

The win over the Sky Blues was Glenavon's third of December with the only defeat coming against league leaders Linfield with McLaughlin delighted to get a win on the road.

"To come here and get three points, I'm delighted, all our points had come at Mourneview, so it is good to get one away and get that off our backs, it is good to get back-to-back wins" he said.

"It is tough place to come, and the pitch wasn't great, but I thought our boys were excellent, they defended the box really well and when the chances came, we took them."
