K-pop girl group Lovelyz united to make a group comeback after four years with the new single "November" in celebration of its 10th anniversary.
The eight-piece act — consisting of Lee Su-jeong, Yoo Ji-ae, Seo Ji-soo, Lee Mi-joo, Kei, Jin, Ryu Su-jeong and Jung Ye-in — will drop the new song on Tuesday at 6 p.m. through streaming sites. This is the group's first release in over four years since its seventh mini-album, "Unforgettable," in September 2020.
The new song is a warm and emotional track built on the sounds of bells and plucking, with analog synth sounds and elaborate rhythm sections.
"'November' tells a story about eventually reuniting after time passes despite being apart for a while. The song features the harmony of emotionally powerful instrumental arrangements with the members' sincere voices as they thought of fans who stayed by their side for a long time, capturing Lovelyz's unique sentimentality and emotions," the group's agency Woolim Entertainment said in a statement.
The group surprised its fans in June with a performance on MBC's reality show "Hangout with Yoo," where they took the stage as part of the show's spring festival episode.
As its special reunion created a buzz, the group confirmed that it would hold a solo concert, "LOVELYZ 4 OF WINTER WORLD," for the first time in four years since "LOVELYZ ONTACT CONCERT" in 2020.
First held in 2017, "Lovelyz of Winter World" is a concert series with full live sessions of the band. With spectacular live performances, choreography and diverse compositions from the group's discography, it became known as Lovelyz's signature seasonal concert for its fans.
In time for the group's 10th debut anniversary, Lovelyz will be holding a two-day concert as part of "LOVELYZ 4 OF WINTER WORLD" at Seoul Student Gymnasium in Songpa District, Seoul, on Saturday and Sunday, sold out for both days.
The group is also set to hold concerts in Macau and Taiwan on Nov. 24 and Dec. 1, respectively.
Lovelyz, which debuted with the song "Candy Jelly Love" in 2014, soon became one of the most promising girl groups, making hits with songs like "Now, We," "Destiny" and "Ah-Choo," composed by renowned singer-songwriter Yoon Sang.
The members parted ways when their seven-year exclusive contract with then-agency Woolim Entertainment expired in 2021. Only Lee Su-jeong renewed her contract with the management.
"We thank the eight members for making the company shine and doing their best over the past seven years. We sincerely support the members' new start," the agency said upon announcing the termination of the members' contract.
Despite separating from their former agency, the members have joined hands again to pick up the group act this year.
