Cincinnati mayor's has acknowledged that he deserves all the taunting going his way following the Chiefs' win over the Bengals and NFL tight end Travis Kelce's dig at him postgame.
'Yeah. Deserved that,' tweeted Aftab Pureval, Cincy's 70th mayor, on Sunday night.
'Congrats to KC on a well-fought win, and good luck in Arizona. Proud of our fans and @bengals for that energy all year. Who Dey!'
Cincinnati mayor Aftab Pureval tweeted that he deserved Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce's dig
Pureval had been trolling Chiefs fans before Sunday's game, even through a city proclamation
The public official's tweet came just hours after Kelce succeeded teammate Patrick Mahomes in taking part in a postgame interview while the trophy ceremony for the AFC Championship title was unfolding at Arrowhead Stadium.
That's when the Kelce reprimanded Pureval while holding the Lamar Hunt Trophy in front of Chiefs fans.
'I got some wise words for that Cincinnati Mayor,' Kelce told CBS' NFL commentator Jim Nantz, imitating a Dwayne ''The Rock'' Johnson catchphrase. 'Know your role and shut your mouth, ya jabroni.'
In an another interview with CBS' Tracy Wolfson, Kelce also taunted Bengals fans, including Cincinnati's mayor, after grabbing the mic' from Mahomes. In it, he yelled: 'Burrowhead my a**. It's Mahomes' house.'

Before Sunday's game, Pureval shared a video of himself on Twitter reading a city proclamation that referred to Arrowhead Stadium as 'Burrowhead Stadium' and Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow as 'Patrick Mahomes' father'.
The trolling didn't sit well with Mahomes' wife, Brittany, and Kansas City mayor, Quinton Lucas, who, like Kelce, fired back at the Cincinnati mayor.
'I hear the mayor of Cincinnati has tried to bring some smoke that's weak as hell,' Lucas tweeted, two days prior to the outcome of Sunday's game.
'No need to respond. KC's got class. Cincinnati has Jerry Springer and no rings. See them Sunday.'
Kansas City's mayor Quinton Lucas also chimed in, saying Pureval's trolls were 'weak as hell'
The Bengals couldn't stop the Chiefs from winning despite recent wins at Arrowhead Stadium
Sunday's game was decided by a last-second FG, converted by Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker
Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was sacked five times, threw two interceptions and was unable to drive his team downfield late in the fourth quarter of the AFC title game. That gave the Chiefs a chance in the closing seconds, and Mahomes made the Bengals pay, setting up Harrison Butker’s last-second field goal for the narrow win.
The Bengals came in having beaten the Chiefs by three points three straight times, including last year’s AFC title game.
Burrow finished with 270 yards passing and a touchdown, though the two picks were costly. He also was penalized for intentional grounding on the Bengals’ last possession, then was sacked by Chris Jones on third down. Cincinnati was forced to punt with 41 seconds to go — plenty of time for Mahomes.
The All-Pro quarterback scrambled for a first down with eight seconds left, and was pushed late out of bounds by Bengals linebacker Joseph Ossai. That was enough to give Butker an opportunity to kick the winning field goaln and wrap the game up.
