What We Like:
The Zip Top Reusable Food Storage Bags are a convenient solution for storing food, thanks to their sturdy silicone construction that allows them to stand up on their own. This design makes it easy to pour or spoon food into them without needing an extra hand to hold the bag open. Their wide, bowl-like opening is particularly useful when transferring foods like soups or stews, eliminating the usual mess associated with traditional storage bags.

However, these bags did not seal well during our tests, leading to noticeable leakage, especially when placed on their side.

Detailed Review:
Transferring liquids into traditional food storage bags can be cumbersome, often requiring one hand to hold the bag open while you carefully pour with the other. Zip Top bags simplify this process significantly with their self-standing, wide-mouthed design. Made from thick, durable silicone, these bags make filling them a breeze, especially for liquid-based foods.

These bags are versatile: they are microwave-safe (with the caveat that you should leave them open or partially unzipped), freezer-safe, and dishwasher-safe. We tested the large bag by making a batch of turmeric rice, which cooked perfectly. The bags also nest neatly inside one another, though their shape means they still occupy a fair amount of storage space. Despite their size, they hold less food than expected due to their bowl-like shape.

While the bags are sturdy and resistant to warping, we found that they stained easily when in contact with foods like tomato sauce. Additionally, their sealing capability is a major drawback. The bags were difficult to seal completely, and when placed on their side, a significant amount of leakage occurred. This issue makes them less reliable for storing liquids unless kept upright in the fridge or freezer.
