XRP News: The long running legal tussle between U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Ripple Labs received a fresh ruling on March 6, 2023. U.S. District Judge, Analisa Torres issued a much anticipated Ruling on the Parties’ Motions to preclude expert testimony in the XRP lawsuit. However, the main question here still remains when will the court announce the Summary Judgment?

XRP Lawsuit Coming To An End?

Attorney John Deaton, Amicus Curiae or XRP holders’ lawyer in Ripple vs SEC lawsuit laid out his expectations for the awaited Summary Judgment from here. The lawyer stated that he seriously doubt that the court would do a much delay from here. He added that the Summary Judgment could be tonight or in a couple of weeks.

Eleanor Terrett, Journalist at Fox Business mentioned that it is important to note the US SEC staff lawyers tried to ban XRP Holder’s lawyer through Judge Torres. However, the court didn’t follow up with the agency and ruled that expert Doody shouldn’t testify about the XRP holders.

As per the orders, Judge granted Ripple’s motion to exclude expert No. 1 (Patrick Doody) from testifying about the XRP purchaser. However, US SEC earlier hired Doody in order to analyze the expectations of token buyers in the case against Telegram. The commission won that case and his rejection in the XRP lawsuit is a good sign for Ripple.
