Elon Musk Gets Open Invitation to “Talk” From Argentina’s New President

Newly elected Argentina president Javier Milei has extended an invitation to ‘talk’, to X platform founder Elon Musk. 

Javier Milei Pushes for Equality

Milei announced this invitation after Musk shared a video excerpt of the President’s interview where he declared that equality should never come before freedom. The libertarian politician who would be sworn into office on December 10, is pushing a narrative to make societies more equal. In his opinion, it is far more important for people to be free.

Speaking of the American economist who won the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1976, the incoming Argentine President said;

“There’s a sublime phrase by Milton Friedman that I find to be outstanding, which is that when you prioritize equality over freedom, you end up achieving neither. But when you prioritize freedom over equality, you achieve many of both.”

It is not yet clear what the subject of his discussion with Elon Musk would be but the move by the latter shows that many top conservatives are closely monitoring the incoming pro-Bitcoin head of state.

Musk had previously voiced his support for Milei especially when he won the elections on November 19. “Prosperity is about to come to Argentina,” the Tesla boss posted on the X app. 

This is not surprising as Elon Musk is known to throw his weight behind crypto-friendly politicians like in the case of GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who embraced Bitcoin donations for his campaign.

Noteworthy, both Elon Musk and Javier Milei share certain similarities in terms of their opinion on freedom of speech as well as their relationship with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. 

Generally, Elon Musk has been a controversial entity that has constantly attracted some attention. His campaign against the lack of freedom of speech contributed to his decision to acquire Twitter, which was rebranded to X a few months ago. He is also a proponent of crypto and he is closely associated with canine-themed memecoin Dogecoin (DOGE), a relationship that earned him the name DogeFather.

Milei is very enthusiastic about Bitcoin which he once referred to as a movement toward “restoring money.” With these similarities between Musk and Milie, they would likely have so much to talk about if Elon Musk chooses to honor the open invitation.
