POCATELLO — Bannock County and Nederlander Concerts have announced that legendary rock band ZZ Top will perform in Pocatello this summer as part of its Elevation Tour, adding to an exciting concert season in the city. The concert will be held on Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Portneuf Health Trust Amphitheatre (aka The Port).

The Texas-based trio, known for their signature beards, bluesy rock sound and decades-long career, will visit Australia and New Zealand this summer before returning to North America for a series of additional performances, including their stop at The Port.

With over 50 years of performing and recording, ZZ Top remains one of the most recognizable names in rock music. The band’s influence spans generations, with hits like “Sharp Dressed Man,” “Legs” and “Got Me Under Pressure.” They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004 and have sold millions of records worldwide. “That Little Ol’ Band From Texas” received a Grammy nomination and helped introduce their story to new generations of music lovers.

In a news release, frontman Billy F Gibbons said of the ongoing tour, “We love getting out there and turning it up. We’re excited about these new dates because this tour’s been a great ride so far, and we don’t want it to end anytime soon.”

While a warmup band for the Pocatello concert is not confirmed, support acts Night Ranger, Payton Smith and Black Stone Cherry will join ZZ Top on various tour dates.

Tickets for the Aug. 14 show go on sale Friday, April 18, at 10 a.m. through ETIX.

“We have one more show to announce in the coming weeks! Stay tuned,” Bannock County Public Information Officer Emma Iannacone said.

For now, fans are encouraged to secure their tickets early and prepare for what is sure to be a memorable night of live music in Pocatello.
