Woman killed when a falling tree hits her car

POST FALLS — A Post Falls woman is dead after a tree fell and hit her car Saturday morning.

The 68-year-old woman was driving a Honda CRV east on 3700 Seltice Way near Post Falls just before 10 a.m., according to a news release from Idaho State Police.

“A tree in the median fell over the eastbound lanes of travel and impacted the Honda CRV,” officials said.

The woman died at the scene. There were reportedly no other occupants in the Honda.

Traffic on eastbound Seltice Way was blocked for approximately two hours, according to Idaho State Police.

Next of kin has been notified, officials said, and the investigation is ongoing.
