University of Idaho Extension coming to Rexburg

REXBURG — The University of Idaho Extension is coming to Rexburg in October and November. It will be hosting four different Land SMART Workshops for local landowners.

According to Shannon Williams, educator and county chair over agriculture and natural resources at the UI Extension, the workshop will include a mix of lectures and hands-on activities for the participants, with an online guest speaker present at each session.

There will also be resource books and refreshments provided at each of the locations.

“We would like to help landowners reach their goals … and be productive,” Williams said.

The Rexburg event will be held at 134 East Main Street on Oct. 12, 19 and 26, and Nov. 2, from 6 to 9 p.m.

The dates and topics discussed at the workshop session are as follows:

Oct. 12: Soil and Nutrient Management Oct. 19: Water and Irrigation Management Oct. 26: Pasture and Grazing Management and Invasive Management Nov. 2: Livestock Management and Handling Practices

The workshops will also be available in the following locations:

St. Anthony 19 West 1st North
Malad City 459 South Main Street.
Preston 561 West Oneida
