Recent unexplained drone sightings in the vicinity of military bases in the US, UK and Germany are part of an unprecedented surge in UFO activity, according to an Irish expert, who believes aliens could be about to make themselves known to mankind.
And Ireland could be at the forefront of a future extraterrestrial invasion because there is evidence to suggest a portal used by aliens to enter and exit Earth is located in the midlands between Athlone in Co Westmeath and Slane just over the border in Co Meath, says Carl Nally of UFO and Paranormal Research Ireland (UPRI).
He was speaking to the Irish Mirror following repeated sightings of unexplained flying objects near military facilities in the US, UK and Germany over the past two months, with the US Department of Defense stating that it has been unable to identify the operators or points of origin of the aircraft.
Both the White House and the FBI have said they cannot fully explain the origin of the objects. "We have no evidence at this time that the reported drone sightings pose a national security or a public safety threat, or have a foreign nexus," a White House official said last week.
However, Mr Nally told the Irish Mirror that the flashing lights in the sky would have been positively identified as drones at this stage if they were, in fact, just unmanned aerial vehicles.
"It's an amazing situation, the way we see it," he said. "You would imagine that, when anything appears over a military base, a military helicopter would go up and investigate them but they haven't done that."
"They call them drones. Are they drones or UFOs? They would have identified them by now if they were drones even just by shooting one of them down to see what it is. But they haven't done that, and that leads us to believe that, possibly, it could be UFOs again."
Mr Nally said the appearance of flying objects near military bases is part of an unprecedented global surge in UFO sightings over the past two months including in Ireland, where several suspected UFOs have been spotted around Slane and Athlone.
He said research suggested there were certain locations on the planet where UFOs enter from space and leave again, and claimed that one such location may exist in the midlands explaining the uptick in sightings in recent weeks.
"It's very peculiar that it's happening in a lot of places at the same time," said Mr Nally. "We're not used to that on this side of the world. At some point, they will make themselves known, and why not now?"
The UFO expert said the recent sightings at army installations suggested extraterrestrials were assessing military strength, and noted that UFOs had also been spotted in the vicinity of nuclear facilities.
"It seems to be some kind of observation that's going on at this point in time, and it seems to have increased, without a shadow of a doubt, and you would wonder," he said.
Mr Nally appears relaxed about the prospect of an alien invasion, however, and suggested there were greater threats to mankind to worry about.
"If you put an alien invasion on one side of the scales and AI on the other, I'd be more concerned about AI," he said.
Mr Nally has co-authored three books on extraterrestrials and UFOs with Dermot Butler, the most recent of which was Circle of Deceit. They are currently working on their fourth book.
