BLACKFOOT – A high speed chase ended in a PIT maneuver and two people being arrested near Blackfoot Wednesday morning.
It started in Fort Hall a little after 9 a.m., according to Idaho State Police Lt. Todd Orr. The initial report from Fort Hall Police indicated a man and woman were passed out in a Jeep Renegade at a service station.
At some point, they woke up and drove away. Officers tried pulling them over multiple times. Orr assumes it was because they were driving under the influence, but was unable to confirm that.
Orr says the driver wouldn’t stop and led police on a high speed chase along Interstate 15. That’s when ISP got involved.
It ended at 9:44 a.m. at exit 89 south of Blackfoot when law enforcement spiked their tires in a PIT maneuver. Details about the extent of the damage to the suspects’ vehicle are unclear, but Orr says there was minor damage to a patrol vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Both individuals were arrested and taken into custody.
