Memphis fire department on Monday evening announced they had fired three members of staff for failing to assist Tyre Nichols as he lay dying following a January 7 police beating.
The trio comprised of two EMTs, Robert Long and JaMichael Sandridge, and Lieutenant Michelle Whitaker.
Tyre Nichols, 29, was brutally beaten like a 'human piñata' by five Memphis, Tennessee, police officers , who were all African American, on January 7 and died three days later in the hospital from kidney failure and cardiac arrest
