The Department for Infrastructure has announced a temporary pause on a roadworks scheme in South Belfast before it restarts in the new year.
Work has been taking place at the junction of Knockbracken Road and Saintfield Road, close to the entrance of the Knockbracken Healthcare Park, as part of a developer led scheme.
The work started earlier this year in August and was expected to last 60 weeks.

This has now been put on hold for the Christmas period with work beginning again in January and is expected to be completed in the summer months.
A Departmental spokesperson said: “The work at A24 Saintfield Road and Knockbracken Road junction is a major developer led scheme .
"Due to the nature of the work on Knockbracken Road, which involved deep excavation , the contractor has to complete some safety related measures before the road can be reopened for the remainder of the Christmas roadworks embargo period.
"To ensure the safety of the public and road workers the Knockbracken Road will be closed again from early January 2025 to allow for the widening and retaining wall construction on the Hospital side of the road. Full details on the length of the closure are yet to be confirmed but once known will be available on Trafficwatchni.com.”
