St Patrick's Day Belfast 2025: Top Irish traditional band The Rapparees announce St Patrick's Day weekend gigs

3 months ago 272

With the long St Patrick's Day holiday weekend fast approaching, top Irish traditional band The Rapparees have announced a rip-roaring series of gigs across Northern Ireland.

Belfast born and bred, The Rapparees have been putting their own spin on Irish folk and traditional music for 20 years or more. Theirs is a distinctive sound, the kind forged growing up together. Playing a mixture of their own songs - such as Randalstown Rambler - and classics from The Pogues to get you in the mood to party on St Patrick's Day.

The band consists of Gerry, his cousin Joe, their lifelong school friends Kevin and Conor, and relatively new member of the band Stephen.

The tallest band and biggest footed band in Ireland, the lads have recorded four studio albums, their latest ‘Recharged’ in 2019.

And anyone who has attended their annual FairyTale Of The Pogues concerts in The Limelight at Christmas time can attest to a night you won't forget - or may struggle to remember after a refreshment too many.

Festivities kick-off on Saturday March 15 at Crumlin Road Goal in North Belfast then it's up to Da Vincis Hotel in Derry for a performance before the finale on March 17 at Theatre At The Mill in Newtownabbey.

For ticket details on the Crumlin Road Goal concert visit here. Doors open at 7pm with bar service available. This is a show not to be missed so early booking is recommended. Information on Da Vincis Hotel can be found here while Theatre At The Mill can be found here.

So drown the shamrock with Streams Of Whiskey, kick up your feet at Fiesta or just get the toes tapping with The Grass Grows Greener this St Patrick's Day with the mighty Rapparees.
