A Falcon 9 rocket will launch 48 Starlink satellites

LOMPOC, Calif. – Another batch of Starlink satellites are expected to launch Friday afternoon from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

The launch, scheduled for 12:29 p.m. PST, will use a Falcon 9 rocket to launch an additional 48 Starlink satellites into low orbit.

This launch will be the 12th flight for the first-stage booster supporting this mission, according to SpaceX. Prior to this launch, the company launched Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich, DART, Transporter-7, Iridium OneWeb and seven other Starlink missions.

Weather is expected to be favorable, but a backup launch has been scheduled for Saturday at 12:06 p.m. PST.
