A Belfast councillor has slammed those responsible for damage caused to a pitch in Belfast.
Sinn Féin's Natasha Brennan, said "a sizeable" amount of damage was caused in the Woodlands area on Thursday night. A car believed to be invovled, was then abandoned in the same area on Finaghy Road North.
In a statement, cllr Brennan added: "A car was abandoned in Woodlands last night after causing a sizeable amount of damage to one of the pitches. Belfast City Council and PSNI are working together to get the car removed and then repair damage.
"Absolutely senseless unwanted behaviour."
A PSNI spokesperson told Belfast Live: "Police received a report of a car that had been left abandoned in the Finaghy Road North area of West Belfast this morning, Friday 31st January.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the report.
"We would appeal to anyone who might have any information which could assist us to contact 101 and quote reference number 297 of 31/01/25."
Belfast City Council has been approached for comment.
