RTE's Late Late Show cancelled as Patrick Kielty confirms return date

The RTÉ schedule is getting a bit of a shuffle this week and, as a result, The Late Late Show will be taking a breather from its usual spot.

Don't expect to tune in on Friday, November 8th, because the iconic programme is stepping aside for one week only. But fear not, the show's affable host Patrick Kielty confirmed just last week that they'll be back on the airwaves come Friday, November 15th, with a very special guest, the Irish Mirror reports.

"We're not here next week, but we'll be back on Friday the 15th with the star of Gladiator II Paul Mescal," the host announced during the previous episode.

Meanwhile, The Late Late Show team has been all abuzz on social media, urging fans of Paul Mescal to grab a coveted spot in the audience when he graces the studio fresh off his stint at the Irish premiere of Gladiator II.

They beckoned fans with the message: "Paul Mescal will be joining us in studio ahead of release of Gladiator 2. Want to be in the audience? Email [email protected] with Paul Mescal in the subject line."

For those seeking refuge from their disrupted Friday night TV routine, RTÉ One offers solace by screening the beloved romcom Notting Hill, where Hugh Grant's charmingly awkward bookshop owner chances upon love with Julia Roberts' renowned film star.

Over on RTE 2, you can catch American Gangster, featuring Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe. The film narrates the tale of 1970s drug lord Frank Lucas, whose innovative heroin smuggling techniques made him a prominent figure in the New York underworld. .

Meanwhile, Virgin Media One will be broadcasting Ireland vs New Zealand live from Dublin's Aviva Stadium. The two teams face off for the first time since last year's World Cup defeat as Andy Farrell's squad begin their Autumn series campaign.

The Graham Norton Show, a rival chat show, airs on BBC One from 10.40pm.
