RTE Late Late Show viewers were delighted on Friday night as two guests got on like a house on fire.

Comedian and actress Rosie O'Donnell sat down with host Patrick Kielty to talk about her move from the US to Ireland, and politics in America at the moment. She spoke about how difficult she found the election of Donald Trump.

The atmosphere lightened when country music legend Daniel O'Donnell joined the conversation. Despite sharing a surname, they're not related.

The duo's banter with each other was noted by viewers, with Rosie particularly enjoying Daniel's tales of his family and upbringing. She was delighted when she was gifted a Daniel O'Donnell calendar by Patrick Kielty.

Audiences labelled them "TV gold" together as they took to social media, reports RSVP Live.

On X, one wrote: "Give Rosie and Daniel a show."

Another chimed in: "Ok I'm invested these two are tv gold," while a third added: "Aw no don't let them go."

A fourth remarked: "If Daniel says she's alright she's alright with me."

And another viewer said: "Daniel explaining the lore of his time on Room to Improve to Rosie O'Donnell, SCREAM,".

After her January move to Ireland, Rosie shared that she intends to remain there at least until her daughter Clay, who is set to start secondary school in August, finishes school.

She said: "I would like to stay until she's done with high school and then we'll figure that out.

"But my son Blake got married in August, and I know when they have that first child, it's going to call me home. I love nothing more than a newborn baby.

"My daughter has four children, she lives in Wisconsin so we don't get to see each other quite so often. But my other three grown children live in New Jersey, right near each other and near my best friend Jackie."

Also on the programme was stand-up comedian and actress Roisin Conaty, known for her roles in "Game Face" and "After Life," discussing her Irish connections and talking about her latest series.

Four-time Cheltenham Gold Cup winner and leading jockey at this year's festival with four winners, jockey Paul Townend and Cheltenham 2025 double winner and the only female jockey ever to win a Grand National, Rachael Blackmore, also appeared on the show and reviewed the highs and lows of the festival.
