PSNI issue specific appeal after theft from East Belfast building site

Police have issued a specific appeal for information following a theft from an East Belfast building site.

Shortly after 5.30pm on Sunday, March 16, police received a report that a vehicle entered a building site in the Pottinger Street area. The driver exited the vehicle and proceeded to attach a trailer that belonged to the site, to his car, and drove off in the direction of Beersbridge Road.

Police have issued an appeal for anyone with footage of the incident to get in touch, adding they are keen to hear from anyone who saw a specific car in the area.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: "Enquiries are ongoing and police are appealing to anyone who may be able to assist with the investigation or has CCTV, dash-cam or mobile phone footage, to contact them on 101, quoting reference 1163 16/03/25.

"Officers are especially keen to hear from anyone who noticed a dark-coloured Mitsubishi Shogun, with a tyre mounted on the rear hatch, acting suspiciously in the Pottinger Street area between 4.30pm and 5.30pm, to get in touch.

"Alternatively, you can submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/. You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org/."
