The prosecution said Saturday it ordered President Yoon Suk Yeol's release from custody after a court accepted Yoon's request to overturn his arrest with detention.
A special investigation team said it notified the Seoul Detention Center in Uiwang, just south of the capital, to free him, one day after the Seoul Central District Court ordered Yoon's release.
Yoon will be released 52 days after investigators arrested him and brought him there Jan. 15 on charges of inciting an insurrection through his Dec. 3 declaration of martial law. (Yonhap)
