Preston continues to top 5A state media poll, Watersprings jumps to No. 1 in 1A after beating Rockland

With a win over previous No. 1 Rockland, Watersprings jumped to the No. 1 spot in this week’s boys basketball state media poll in 1A.

Preston received all 10 first-place votes to remain atop the 5A rankings, followed by Hillcrest.

In 6A, Madison received a first-place vote, but power Owyhee still earned the No. 1 spot with 49 points.

As expected, the 4A rankings are heavy with east Idaho picks as Snake River, Sugar-Salem and American Falls line up behind unbeaten Bonners Ferry. Teton also received votes.

West Side and Firth hold on to the No. 2 and No. 5 slots, respectively, in 2A, and Butte County jumped into the 2A rankings at No. 4.
