Portadown police appeal as assault takes place outside church

Police in Co Armagh have issued an appeal for witnesses after an assault that took place outside a church.

At around 12.15am on Sunday, March 23, police received a report of an assault outside St Mark's Church of Ireland in Portadown. The incident then continued into a local shop on Market Street.

In an appeal issued on social media, a spokesperson for the PSNI said: "We are appealing for witnesses in relation to an assault that occurred in Portadown.

"The incident occurred outside St Marks Church of Ireland and continued into a local shop on Market Street, Portadown. This occurred on Sunday 23rd of March 2025 at approximately 0015 hours.

"If you witnessed this assault or have any information please contact us on 101 quoting incident 24-23/03/25."
