Police have issued an appeal following a report of a fight involving a number of people at a Co Armagh hotel over the weekend.
The reported incident took place in the early hours of Sunday morning at the Seagoe Hotel in Portadown, footage of which has been widely shared on social media. It appears to show a number of people fighting in a side room inside the premises during a boxing event on Saturday.
A spokesperson for the hotel has confirmed it was aware of the incident involving a “small group of people”.
A spokesperson added: “We have SIA (Security Industry Authority) approved door staff who were quickly made aware of an incident involving a small group of people and a fight which broke out. This incident was quickly dispersed by our staff.
“This was a small incident at a successful event attended by over 300 people in the hotel. Our staff have cameras on their person and have gathered evidence.
"The Seagoe Hotel will engage with the PSNI and if a request is made for any evidence about the incident gathered to be handed over, we will be happy to accommodate the request.”
A PSNI spokesperson added: “Police received a report of an altercation involving a number of people at premises in the Upper Church Lane area of Portadown at around 12.20am on Sunday, 30th March. Officers attended, however on arrival, nothing was ongoing, and there have not been any reports of any injuries at this time.
“Enquiries are continuing, and police would appeal to anyone with any information which might assist to get in touch via 101, and quote reference number 24 of 30/03/25.”
