Police issue specific appeal after pedestrian dies in Comber crash

Police have issued a specific appeal for information days after a woman was killed after being struck by a car in Co Down.

Isobel Murphy, 80, died at the scene of the crash in the Ballygowan Road area of Comber on Saturday afternoon, February 22.

In a renewed appeal for information issued on Tuesday evening, police are asking for those who have dash-cam footage from the area, or anyone who observed an elderly female pedestrian, to get in touch.

Detective Sergeant McIvor said: “At approximately 4.45pm on Saturday, 22nd February 80-year-old Isobel Murphy died at the scene from her injuries following a collision with a car.

“We are appealing to anyone who was travelling on the Ballygowan Road or Railway Street area between 4.30pm and 4.45pm on Saturday, and has dash-cam footage to make contact with us.

“We are also keen to hear from anyone who observed an elderly female pedestrian on the Ballygowan Road or crossing at the Railway Street area between these same times to make contact with us.”
