A police investigation has been launched following the sudden deaths of two people at a house in Larne this afternoon.

The bodies of two people were discovered at a house in the Elizabeth Avenue area of the Co Antrim town on Thursday, January 23, as police are now trying to establish the circumstances surrounding their deaths.

Police have not released any further details at this time.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the sudden deaths of two people at a house in the Elizabeth Avenue area of Larne this afternoon, Thursday 23rd January. There are no further details at this time."

East Antrim Alliance MLA, Danny Donnelly, has expressed his condolences following the deaths saying: "I’m hearing some very concerning news about a tragic incident in Larne. My thoughts are with the families of those involved. I would encourage anyone with any information that may assist the police to share it with them on 101 or anonymously on Crimestoppers 0800-555111."
