Police investigating after mass brawl follows Lewis Crocker v Paddy Donovan fight at Belfast's SSE Arena

The PSNI has confirmed it is investigating a mass brawl that erupted in the crowd at the SSE Arena in Belfast following a boxing match on Saturday night.

Video footage that emerged following a contentious world title eliminator bout between Lewis Crocker and Paddy Donovan on Saturday appears to show a melee involving a number of people.

Security staff shown in the video appear to intervene during the incident and appear to be grappling with a number of people during the fracas.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the PSNI has confirmed enquiries are now "ongoing".

"Police are aware of footage circulating of an altercation involving a number of people during a sporting event in east Belfast on Saturday 1st March," a police spokesperson said: "Enquiries are ongoing and police would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to the incident to contact 101.

"A report can be made using the online reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport. Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org."
