Police 'increasingly concerned' for Belfast boy missing for two days

A Belfast boy who left home at lunchtime the day after Boxing Day is still missing and police say they are becoming "increasingly concerned".

John Gavin, a 14-year-old who was last seen on his bicycle, has been missing from home since around 1pm on Friday, December 27.

Police say efforts to find him or make contact with him have been "so far unsuccessful".

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: "Police in Belfast are becoming increasingly concerned for a young person who is missing from home.

"John Gavin, 14yrs old, left home at around 1300hrs on 27th December and has not returned. Efforts to locate him and make contact with him have been so far unsuccessful. John is described as being of slim build, with ginger hair and blue eyes.

"He was last seen wearing an all grey track suit and grey puffer coat and was on a bicycle. It is unknown if he still has the bicycle. If anyone has seen John, or knows where he might be, please contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1165 of 28/12/2024"
