Shooting victim died at the hospital from injuries, police say

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – Holly Hill police said they found a person of interest after a 24-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday.

Police said they responded to 1757 N. Nova Road Unit 107 around 12:15 p.m. after receiving reports that a person had been shot.

Upon arrival, officers said they found that the 24-year-old, identified as Lawrence Davis, had been taken to a Daytona Beach hospital by family members in the aftermath of the shooting.

According to the department, Davis was then taken as a trauma alert to another hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police told News 6 that a person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting has been identified, though no information has been provided on their identity at this time.
