Poky’s Garza named 5A Tournament MVP, Marshall Defensive MVP following Thunder’s first State title

EASTERN IDAHO — The Pocatello Thunder claimed their first ever girls basketball state championship with an upset victory over Middleton, Saturday.

Following the dominant 62-46 win, several Pocatello players were named among the IdahoSports.com 5A All-Tournament selections, including Tournament MVP Kenna Garza and Defensive MVP Alivia Marshall.

Blackfoot and Skyline also had players named to the All-Tournament teams — among them, Grizz great and all-time state leading scorer Shay Shippen.
