Pedestrian struck, killed on ID-25

RUPERT — A pedestrian was hit and killed while walking on State Highway 25, near Rupert, according to a news release from Idaho State Police.

The crash happened at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, according to the news release.

A 56-year-old Rupert woman was walking on the shoulder of westbound ID-25 when she reportedly walked into traffic.

She was hit by a Toyota Camry, police said, and died at the scene.

The driver of the Camry, a 38-year-old man from Arizona, was taken by private vehicle to a local hospital, according to officials.

Highway 25 was blocked for about three hours, officials stated in the news release.

The incident remains under investigation, Idaho State Police said.
