One person taken to hospital after East Belfast crash

One person has been taken to hospital after a crash involving a car and pedestrian in East Belfast.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service attended the scene on Grand Parade at around 7pm on Friday, March 14. A rapid response paramedic, two emergency crews, and an ambulance officer were tasked to the scene.

One person was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital after initial treatment at the scene.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the NIAS said: "The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 19:01 on Friday 14 March following reports of a road traffic incident involving a car and pedestrian.

"NIAS despatched a Rapid Response Paramedic and 2 Emergency Crews and an ambulance officer to the incident. Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken to RVH."

In a statement at around 8pm on Friday evening, police confirmed they were also at the scene. A spokesperson for the PSNI said: "Police are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision in the Grand Parade area of east Belfast. There are no further details at present."
