MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A 27-year-old Ocala woman was killed Wednesday morning in a crash with a tractor-trailer that was parked in the median along I-75 in Marion County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal wreck happened around 9:40 a.m. on I-75 north near State Road 326.

The FHP said the woman was driving a car north in the left of lane of I-75, veered to the left for an unknown reason and struck the rear of the semitrailer, which was parked in the paved median because it had been involved in another crash.

The woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, an FHP crash report stated.

No other injuries were reported.

Northbound lanes of I-75 were closed for hours before reopening at 1:12 p.m., the FHP said.

No other details have been released.
